About

Digit Bikes was founded in 2021 by Tim Lane who has designed, developed and engineered some of the worlds most advanced bicycle frames, components and apparel for all bicycle market segments, from systematically considered aerodynamic time-trial racing bikes, to style-first beach cruisers, even game-changing apparel.

“It’s fair to say that I’m quite obsessed by bikes.
My parents never owned a car, so as a kid I rode everywhere, and I didn’t get a driving license until I was well into my 20’s.

I started my first business around age 15 in order to buy a mountain bike, and I’ve worked in the bike industry as a mechanic, in tech support as a Rockshox tuner, and as a designer, engineer and product developer for bikes raced on the Mountain Bike World Cup Circuit and in the Tour De France.

In 2012, I founded DirtBaggies, bringing the all-day comfort of bib-shorts to baggy short wearing mountain bikers. By treating clothing as equipment, not simply as fashion, I created a new and now ubiquitous market segment in the mountain bike apparel industry.

I ran my first crowdfunding campaign with DirtBaggies. We didn’t have a single unhappy customer, we've received many unsolicited 5-star reviews, and many of our backers became repeat customers.”

Upon launch, Digit Bikes’ Analog Suspension won both of the the top two trophies at Eurobike, the worlds most prestigious bicycle industry awards, and nomination as PinkBike Innovation of the Year.
